Wild Virginia Graduated 24 Participants for the 2024 Clean Water Advocates Program
On Saturday, November 9, 2024, Wild Virginia recognized volunteers who completed a nine-week course that is designed to empower and equip individuals, communities, and organizations to protect Virginia’s water quality. Twenty-four participants were chosen for this year’s program, which teaches graduates about legal and technical frameworks for water pollution control and gives them practical tools to advocate effectively.
Virginia Delegate Katrina Callsen provided opening remarks before a graduation / certificate ceremony in Charlottesville, VA for the 2024 cohort.
Wild Virginia fights for full protection of our waters, a vital part of our common wealth, insisting that state and federal agencies do their jobs to enforce the laws that are supposed to protect all Virginians—a task that those officials fail at much too often. As Clean Water Advocates, graduates will work on local and statewide issues and have the knowledge and skills to be effective at representing and getting results that reflect their interests and the concerns of their communities.
